The Whitepost Health Care Group offers Supervised Practice Courses for qualified Nurses who have obtained their training in countries outside of the European Union.
What is Supervised Practice?
It is for Nurses who have been asked by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) to undertake a supervised practice placement for between 3 and 6 months. The purpose of the supervised placement is to enable the practitioners to become familiar with NMC code of conduct, legal issues related to professional practice in the United Kingdom. Also to assess and develop the clinical, communication and linguistic skills required by the NMC.

The course is linked with The City University London therefore the programme is determined by them. You will work in a Nursing Home approved by the NMC for your training. The classroom teaching and reflective learning is provided by the University at a venue of their choice. The final professional assessment is carried out by the University. Please note the University charges for the provision of its services
The programme runs over 13 or 26 weeks.
Work Permits and Visas
Two months before the overseas nurses are due to start the course we will apply for a work permit. If this is granted we will send this to the students home address, also included with the permit is a letter confirming the content of the course for the student to take to the British High Commission/Embassy to assist in their request for a visa to come to the UK.

We can also offer accommodation at the Whitepost Health Care Centre, Redhill Surrey (Charges are available on application)
DOCUMENTATION IS REQUIRED BY THE WHITEPOST NURSING AGENCY LTD PRIOR TO AGREEMENT THAT AN INDIVIDUAL MAY JOIN THE COURSE.
These are:
- Copies of all Nursing Education Certificates.
- A copy of the NMC letter detailing the length of supervised practice required.
- A completed Adaptation/Supervised Practice form.
- A certificate of attendance of an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) course, which the student must have passed at Academic Level, with an overall band score of 6.5 or above.
- A photocopy of a current passport.
- Name and address of current employer.
- Evidence of current registration with the Nursing Council of your country.
After appraisal of all the documentation submitted, the Agency will offer the applicant a place on the next available course.
